YarT Photography and 10b Photography present The future of photojournalism: language, new media and ethics
The third edition of the Photo Workshop in Rome continues the tradition of training courses organized by YarT
and proposes a photographic exploration of the “Eternal City”, encouraging those who want to get away from the classic routes and to seize the unknown realities of Rome. The goal of the workshop conducted by Francesco Zizola
, one of the greatest Italian photographers, winner of nine World Press Photo and numerous other international awards, jury member of the WPP, is to provide the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for the production of a photographic project. The purpose is to develop individual and creative approach in documentary photography and to learn how to work in unfamiliar territory.

Over the course of the 6-day full immersion workshop, students will learn from Zizola the way to tell a story that advances their personal vision and builds their professional identities. The teacher will describe all the stages of photography work production: starting from an idea, moving on to create a story, to sequence it and to finally edit. There will be time dedicated to the execution of the personal essay on the city of Rome under the guidance of the experienced photographer. Zizola will discuss the participants’ portfolios, in order to help them develop critical analysis tools and understand how to apply the language of photojournalism both to traditional and the latest media technologies. We will pay particular attention to the professional and ethical aspects of photojournalism, from shooting to realization of the final “product” (print, book, multimedia).
