YarT Photography presents an intensive photography workshop

and proposes a reflection and a dialogue on the contemporary landscape photography.

Architecture Photography, Nature and Urban Landscape Photography, Interior Photography, Night Photography will be explored during this four-days course in the excellent location on the seaside in Tuscany - Monte Argentario, Maremma, Orbetello.

The ART• ARCHITECTURE • HABITAT workshop in Toscana is supported by SCALA ARCHIVES, the largest and most prestigious fine art image archive worldwide. The best photography project produced by a workshop participant during the course will be acquired by the Archive and added to the database.

The is supported also by Epson Italia, that will provide us with a color management expert and the professional printing equipment.

Teacher: Baldassari works as a stuff photographer for the the National Art Gallery of Bologna (Pinacoteca Nazionale di Bologna) and for the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, as well as teaches landscape and art photography in the Academies of Fine Arts of Milan, Bologna, Ravenna, Rome.

Period: September 05-08 2013.

Timetable: 11-13, 14-19 + one night shooting session. Total 32 hours

Day 1 (September 5, 2013)

  • h15:00 – 19:00 First outside shooting: Landscape and historic architecture (Monte Argentario – Orbetello)

Day 2 (September 6, 2013)

  • h 10:00 Work in progress review
  • h 11:00 Usage of the professional photography equipment: test and learning on sight
  • h 13:00 Lunch break
  • h 15:00 Shooting: landscape and historic architecture, arts (Capalbio, Magliano, Pitigliano)
  • h 21:00 Night shooting in the historical centre of Pitigliano (optional)

Day 3 (September 7, 2013)

  • h 10:00 Archaeological site shooting (Roselle in Grosseto or Città di Cosa in Ansedonia)
  • h 13:00 Lunch break
  • h 15:00 Shooting at the Maremma seaside
  • h 21:00 Collective dinner

Day 4 (September 8, 2013)

  • h 10:00 Work in progress review and editing
  • h 12:00 Epson fine art print specialist will meet the students and explain the printing process and techniques
  • h 14:00 Lunch break
  • h 15:00 – 18:00 Editing images to create a final portfolio of each participant, printing a few files on Epson / Canson papers using the professional inkjet printers (Epson Stylus Pro 4900, Epson R2400, Epson R800)

Language: The workshop will be held in Italian. The translation in English will be provided.

How to partcipate: Mail us at info@yartproject.com (mail subject: Tuscany workshop) and ask for the applacation form. In order to reserve a place in a group you’ll need to pay a 50% deposit.

What to bring: You’ll need to bring a digital camera, a tripod and a laptop with you. If you wish to use the professional analogue equipment provided by the teacher you’ll need to have the films with you. The paper for prints will be provided by the organization.

The participants are invited to bring their portfolio digital or print (maximum 30 pictures) for the portfolio review.

Costs: The promotional cost ONLY for the first edition of the workshop is €250  (plus €10 – the YarT Photography membership card for 2013, if you are not a member yet).

The first five applicants will get €50 off the price (valid until May 31).

Accommodation and travel expenses are not included. YarT Photography will be happy to help you with the accommodation during your stay.

The workshop is open for all nationalities. All registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Early registration is strongly suggested as the class size is small and fills quickly.
